SPONSORS of the Pride of East Lancashire campaign enjoyed a reception hosted by top chef Nigel Smith at the Feilden's Arms at Mellor Brook.
Some of the area's leading companies and organisations have thrown their weight behind the largest community campaign the area has seen.
Kevin Young, editor of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, said: "We are indebted to all the sponsors who have come forward with such enthusiasm.
"Without them, such an undertaking would never have been possible."
The aim of the campaign is two-fold - to raise the profile of East Lancashire and to recognise the efforts of those unsung heroes who contribute so much to the life of the area.
There are 11 community awards with the campaign culminating in a gala awards night at King George's Hall, Blackburn, on November 22.
At a gala dinner, Nigel Smith will prepare a themed menu to serve to 400 specially invited guests before the awards are presented.
