BURNLEY defender Arthur Gnohere has been farmed out on loan to QPR just 24 hours after a public dressing down.

Reserve team coach Ronnie Jepson slammed Gnohere for a lack of effort in the wake of Wednesday's 6-0 loss at Barnsley.

And with Ronnie's rocket still ringing in his ears following a pre-season rebuke from Clarets chief Stan Ternent, the 24-year-old Frenchman has joined Rangers for a month to replace defender Clarke Carlisle, who has been ruled out for 28-days with an alcohol-related illness.

Ternent said: "The move is both beneficial for Burnley Football Club and for Arthur.

"It lets him get first team games with a good side and hopefully he will come back here fresh and raring to go."

The loan signing of defender Andy Todd helped influence the decision, and the Blackburn outcast is now raring to pull on a Burnley shirt for the first time in a bid to end his Ewood misery and earn a full time deal with the Clarets.

He said: "It's not a problem moving here. I'm here to play football, not upset anyone, and it's a chance to help Burnley.

"At Blackburn, I've been more or less told I will be a squad player, so I knew where I stood.

"I played a few games last season and felt it went okay. But Mr Souness has brought a few new players in and you have to respect his decision to pick others.

"You can be at a club one minute and gone the next. I told Graeme I wanted to play football and he respected that.

"I know Burnley is a massive club and if we can do well I will be looking to make it a permanent move.

"Stan did not have to sell this club to me. It was a chance to play football at a big club without having to move and I grabbed the chance."

Todd, along with Bolton duo Gareth Farrelly and Delroy Facey, will all start the First Division clash to whet the appetite of fans travelling to the Britannia Stadium.

And Ternent is refusing to give up hope of landing the trio of Premiership stars on longer deals once their loan spells expire.

He said: "All three of them are in the team for the weekend and I would like to keep them for more than a month."

However, Ternent has missed out on another target, Nicky Summerbee, who has joined Bradford on a two-year deal.

The winger had been training with the Clarets and Ternent revealed he tabled an offer to add the 32-year-old to his squad.

However, Summerbee opted for a longer contract from the Bantams and put pen to paper last night.
