GOLF club bosses are to go another round with planning chiefs.
It was expected members of the council's planning committee would reject a million pound scheme to transform Whitefield Golf Club at their meeting on Tuesday night.
However, the club asked for a decision on the proposal -- to demolish the existing 71-year-old clubhouse in Higher Lane and replace it with 24 two-bedroom apartments -- to be deferred pending their own review of the planning application.
The development and sale of the new apartments would, club bosses say, pay for the creation of a more modern clubhouse on the current tennis court, a major factor in the recommendation to reject the project.
The matter will be discussed at the next planning meeting on October 7.
