REGARDING your headline (LET, October 27) 'Alcohol in Pop' shock, I'm sure most people in this country and other parts of the world have drunk Lucozade at some time or other.
There are hundreds of Muslims in the Lancashire area who have corner shops knowingly selling alcoholic drinks to anybody who chooses to purchase them, Muslim or non-Muslim.
There are also thousands of Muslims and non-Muslims involved in the soft drinks and brewery industry who could have their jobs put at risk if this demand for a boycott of these soft drinks becomes nationwide.
Some form of alcohol is used in hospitals and medicines all over the world.
Do we have to look forward to Councillor Salim Mulla and his followers boycotting their use in hospitals?
