I AM writing regarding your article (Letters, November 1) about the increase in parking charges at Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn.
I think it's an absolute disgrace that the price is to rise yet again.
Has any thought gone to people on low incomes and our OAPs who struggle to live on a pension in the first place?
What about the families of the long-term sick? They don't have a choice, but to visit on a daily basis.
Where is this money really going? The trust has said it will be spent on extra security and schemes to help visitors access the hospital easier.
I would be very interested to hear what these schemes are and when they will commence.
What extra security has been put in place and when?
What can justify this huge increase?
I had to visit Queen's Park Hospital last week four times with a sick baby and the cost of parking was £4 in total. With the new charges, it would have cost £10, an increase of a whopping 150 per cent.
It would seem the trust has a licence to take money from the sick and needy.
My message to whoever it was who sanctioned this increase is simple: Shame on you.
ROSEMARIE LATHAM (Mrs), Platt Close, Accrington.
