STAFF and pupils at Heasandford Primary School, Burnley, stepped back in time to the Edwardian era to celebrate the school's centenary.
Everyone at the Queen Victoria Road school was dressed in Edwardian costume and the children swapped paper and pens for chalk and slates in lessons. The school also held an open day for past pupils who were entertained by the school choir.
Among the special guests was Burnley MP Peter Pike, a former governor of the school, who was given a tour by his younger daughter, Jane, who attended from 1973 to 1980.
Mr Pike, whose eldest daughter Carol is also a former pupil, said: "I congratulate the school on reaching its centenary year and hope the school has many more anniversaries to celebrate in the future."
