THE Pendle Forest Model Railway Society is holding its annual exhibition at Nelson Civic Theatre this weekend.

As well as their own large layout of Ecclesford junction, there will be a variety of layouts in other scales provided by enthusiasts from neighbouring clubs and societies.

There will also be traders and preservation groups, a kit-building demonstration and a chance for children to drive a train themselves.

Society spokesman Peter Wainman, said: "As always, no effort has been spared this year and our members have worked very hard to bring a fine selection of models in various scales.

"The range of themes this year is quite varied and continental and American layouts feature among the more usual British models.

"We try to cater for all tastes and no one should be disappointed with this year's show."

It starts on Friday from 6pm to 9pm and is open on Saturday, 10am to 6pm and Sunday, 10am to 5pm.

Admission is £2.50 for adults, £1.25 for children or £6.25 for a family (two adults and two children).
