EAST Lancashire shops were running out of bread as a threatened strike by bakers prompted panic buying.
Blackburn's Woolworths store sold out of its 1,400 loaves in just two hours, despite bringing in extra supplies.
The Co-operative Society criticised the panic buying, saying there would be no shortage if people bought bread sensibly.
