POLICE divers were frustrated in their search for a rapist's knife in the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at Church.
It was believed the weapon - used in a horrific attack which took place outside a nearby pub - had been dumped there.
But police said it was proving very difficult to trace such a small item in the pitch-black depths of the canal.
