THERE were plus and minus points to Saturday's draw. I thought young Richard Chaplow was excellent again and the number of times he is the furthest man forward in the box is amazing.

That's pleasing from his point of view, and no doubt also for Stan, who will have been urging him to get in there as often as possible.

But my concern is that our strikers should be busting a gut to score goals like that and I feel a lot of their problems are that too much work is done outside the area.

Take a look at Rob Earnshaw. I know he didn't get a lot of the ball on Saturday, but he still scored with probably his only meaningful touch because he was there in the box, while there were too many times when our strikers weren't.

Delroy was pulling wide quite often, Robbie comes deep and Ian Moore works out wide and too often we don't really have a presence in there.

I think that's something that needs to be addressed, but let's not take anything away from young Chaplow. I'm absolutely made up for him and he has a real taste for it now. If he keeps popping up in the box, he could end up being a midfield player who chips in with double figures - maybe not this year, but in future years.

There are other reasons to feel good at the moment. In Delroy, Glen, Robbie, Ian Moore and Chadwick we have five £1m pound players running out in claret and blue, so anything can happen.

We should be winning games hands down and we probably would be if we could cut out the odd clanger.

If we can just sort it out at the back what a team we would be.

I'M eager to see how Accrington Stanley fare against my old side Huddersfield on Sunday.

Town got hammered 6-2 on Saturday, and clearly they are not the side they once were, even though Andy Booth is still around. He can still score, but

he has had lots of problems with his knees and hardly trains these days.

It's the other lad, Jon Stead, who could cause problems. There has been a lot of interest in him for such a young lad and Sunderland even had a £1m

bid turned down last week, which shows how high Town rate him.

No-one had heard of him before this season, but you score goals and suddenly clubs are making big bids.

Anyhow, despite Huddersfield being a former club, I'm backing Stanley.

What a boost that would be for the area - and they might even win a few disgruntled Rovers fans because all is not well in Souey's camp at the moment.

I was naturally gutted when Leicester rolled them over on Sunday!

Knocked out of Europe to a team I can't even pronounce, out of the League Cup, next

to bottom in the Premiership, and all the fans moaning.

It's all a long way from when the plane flew over Turf Moor, but it's funny how times change.
