A GROUP of musicians are appealing for new members to help expand the big band sound.
The Fred Longworth Bigger Band started rehearsals on Monday and would welcome adult members, especially trombone players.
The band, which meets between 7pm and 9pm, aims to identify young talent in the area and give them a focus to help them rehearse and refine their skills in a relaxed and fully professional set up.
The band will be led by trumpet and keyboard player Rick Astbury from Fred Longworth Arts College and saxophonist Richard Halliwell.
Players of any age at grade 4-5 or above who enjoy playing jazz and contemporary classics should ring Rick on 01942 883796.
