A STORMING second half fight-back from Blackburn Rovers Under 17s saw them snatch a point against Sheffield United at the weekend.
Ian Miller's side were trailing 3-0 with 40 minutes to go but goals from Brian Hodge, Omar Abdilahi and Ralph Welsh - a recent acquisition from Liverpool - ensured the game ended in a 3-3 stalemate.
Unfortunately, Rob Kelly's Under 19s failed to match that performance as they lost 1-0 to Everton.
An under-strength Rovers side carved out a number of decent openings during the course of the 90 minutes but they failed to capitalise and ended up losing to a solitary strike.
Meanwhile, young striker Joe Garner made an impressive debut for England's Under 16s last week.
Garner was voted the man of the match as England beat Wales 4-2.
Rovers' two Academy sides are both in action at Brockhall this weekend. The Under 19s play hosts to Manchester United while Everton provide the opposition for the Under 17s. Both games kick-off at 11am.
