THE POPULAR exhibition 'Variations on a Theme' has made a return to Haslingden this week after last year's event proved so successful. The third quilt exhibition is currently on show at Haslingden Library until the end of the month, revealing a variety of strict piecing and applique quilting.
Librarian Victor Marcinkiewicz said: "The exhibition is back by popular demand. We had people visiting from all over the country just to have a look at the unique designs on display.
"Some of the work has been done by hand and some of it by machine, which shows a huge contrast in work. All quilts were made to an identical pattern." For details on workshops contact 0161 764 0478.
