A QUAD bike has been seized by police in Burnley as part of their continued crackdown on motorcycle nuisance.
The vehicle, seized in the Kibble Bank area of Burnley last week, is the fourth to be taken away by police in response to complaints from residents.
Police were called to Sedburgh Street following a complaint that residents saw juveniles riding a trials bike.
One youngster who had already received a warning had his bike confiscated and two others were given verbal warnings.
The action follows a catalogue of complaints from residents on the Kibble Bank estate about motorbike riding.
Three motorbikes, from Kibble Bank and Padiham, have already been seized by officers. In removing the quad bike, police were exercising new powers which enable them to seize bikes which are causing alarm, distress or annoyance.
They said that the bike was seized by police community support officer, Sian George, as a last resort -- the owner having already received previous verbal and written warnings about his actions.
Sian said: "We have had a number of complaints about motorbike nuisance in the Kibble Bank area. Following the first bike seizure and a number of warnings to other youngsters, the situation eased considerably but having started to receive complaints again, we decided to take further action."
Burnley Police pledged to keep up the pressure on those reckless motorcyclists.
