HINDSFORD lost a closely contested game 2-1 away at Hollinwood FC.

The Manchester side started strongly forcing a couple of good saves from Barry Edge and went in front after only five minutes when a left wing corner was scrambled in by Graham Forde on the far post.

Hindsford gradually got back into the game and came close to scoring when Dan Toone headed narrowly wide from an inswinging corner from Stuart Lomas.

The equaliser came following some good play ending with Chris Cunliffe finding Mark Morris, whose quick control gave him the time and space to beat the keeper with a well placed shot.

Hindsford took control in the second half with Jonny Morris and Neil Critchley going close to scoring after superb team play but despite creating a number of chances they could not manage the winner.

With time running out they fell behind against the run of play when Hollinwood broke from defence and a shot was adjudged to have been handled. Adam Morning scored the winning penalty.

Next week both teams play Old Standians. The first team kicks off at 2pm at Squires Lane.
