Leigh MR 6 v Latchford 14: RANGERS unbeaten run came to an end when they were surprisingly beaten 14-6 by Latchford.
It could have all been different had Rangers crowned their territorial superiority with tries but on the day those scoring chances were not taken and Latchford took full advantage.
It all started well as Rangers looked on course to continue their good run when McCall opened the scoring after a good delayed pass from Ratcliffe but despite dominating the first half the team did not take their try scoring chances and only led 6-4 at the break.
Things were not helped when in-form Ashton had to leave the field with an ankle injury during the first quarter but the players did well to regroup and the second half began the same way as the first with both teams entertaining the spectators with some attractive rugby.
Unfortunately, just as in the first half, Rangers were again guilty of missing some clear-cut opportunities as Latchford took advantage of some poor defending to score two unanswered tries.
Once again Xenos shone in both attack and defence and deservedly took the Man of the Match award.
He was well supported by Ratcliffe, Patterson and Slater.
