ROSSENDALE'S Roman Catholic community is being urged to come together for a week of celebration and exploration of their faith from Sunday.

Valley Catholics Together is an initiative planned by the parishioners from Rossendale's six churches.

Throughout the week six events with different themes and speakers will be held at venues across Rossendale.

One of the organisers, Barry Payton, from St Mary's, in Haslingden, said: "Valley Catholics Together week is a chance for adults in the valley to come together, reflect on their faith and celebrate.

"It has not been arranged by the parish priests, though it does have their support and encouragement.

"Each event will involve prayer and refreshments, a chance to listen and contribute, a chance to chat, laugh and reflect."

Valley Catholics Together week starts on Sunday at Haslingden Community Link and finishes with a Mass for the whole Rossendale Catholic Community at All Saints' High School in Rawtenstall.
