I AM writing in response to Mr M Nagdee's letter in (LET November 13). Once again the race card is being used, this time on behalf of taxi drivers who cannot speak good English.
I would like to ask why it is discriminatory to expect a taxi driver to take a test when he cannot speak English well enough to do the job he has chosen?
If someone wants to work in a post dealing with the general public, should that person not be expected to speak the language?
