A YOUNGSTER fell almost 60ft into a ravine while out walking with his parents.
The boy, 10, who has not been named, was walking with parents and two brothers when he slipped from a path and fell about 60ft into a stream gully and received serious leg injuries.
Rescuers from Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team managed to climb down to the boy and carried him back to the path where he was taken to hospital by Air Ambulance.
The boy was walking along a footpath above Cheesden Brook near to Ashworth Valley Scout Camp when the accident happened.
He was taken to North Manchester General Hospital and transferred to Booth Hall.
