BLACKBURN Under 15s made a quick return to winning ways by beating Hyndburn 2-1 in their Lancashire League match at Pleasington, last week.

The town team failed to stretch their unbeaten run to four when they went down 3-2 to West Lancashire in another Lancashire League match a fortnight ago but they quickly bounced back with a fine all round performance against Hyndburn.

Jack Regan put Blackburn in front before the break but Hyndburn bounced back equalising just five minutes from time through Gary Bowker.

The game looked to be heading towards a 1-1 draw but Blackburn clinched victory with a late goal from Regan.

Rossendale Under 15s, who had no game last weekend, travel to meet West Lancashire for a Lancashire League match on Saturday and Blackburn Under 14s also come together, travelling to take on Manchester in a challenge match.

At county level, Lancashire Under 16s open their Northern Counties campaign with a trip to meet Merseyside at the Liverpool Soccer Centre tonight, kick off 7.00p.m.

Lancashire Under 19s, who opened with a 3-3 draw against Cheshire, take on Greater Manchester at Stanley Park, Blackpool in their next group match on Friday, November 28 (7pm).

At individual schools' level, St. Bede's Catholic High School are carrying the flag for Blackburn in the English Schools Under 14s Cup.

St. Bede's beat Lytham St. Anne's High School 2-0 in their third round clash and they now face a trip to meet All Hallows School (Preston) for their fourth round tie.
