LEIGH Harrier Lauren Howarth has added another title to her growing collection.

The Deanery schoolgirl won a convincing English Schools' North West cross country title at Stoneleigh High over a testing two mile course beating sister, Rebecca, into third spot.

The Leigh squad also gave a good account of themselves over a tough course in the North West Women's League match at Macclesfield.

In the first race over 2500m Hannah Warburton struggled over the hilly terrain to finish fifth closely followed by an improving Amy Riley in 12th.

Eleven-years-old Abigail Howarth, another sister from the athletic Howarth family, was 17th and Kirsty Hogan completed a fine team performance in 32nd.

The U15s event over 4200m saw Lauren and Rebecca Howarth again battling for places, Laura finishing fifth and Rebecca seventh.

In the U17 5000m Amanda Fearnley ran a great second lap to take seventh spot and was followed home by Emma Morris, regaining fitness, in 17th.

Yasmin Foulds completed a good performance in 21st.

The last match of the season will be at Boggart Hole Clough on Saturday. December 6.
