DEAN West is warning his Burnley team-mates it's win at all costs against Rotherham this weekend.

The Clarets defender is aware Stan Ternent's side are in danger of getting dragged into a relegation dogfight following the recent poor run.

And West wants six points from the next two home games against the Millers, then Reading on Tuesday, to lighten the mood around Turf Moor.

He said: "The Rotherham game is the old six-pointer that people say and we have got to win - it's as simple as that.

"We are getting dragged into the bottom six, but it's nothing that a couple of results won't sort out and we have two home games in a short space of time and we need two wins.

"I think we've been playing quite well with the ball. It's just off the ball we are causing problems for ourselves by giving goals away and we seem to be getting punished for everything at the moment.

"That doesn't normally happen and it tends to even itself out over the season, but the opposition seem to be sticking opportunities away every time we make a mistake. That has to change soon."

West is also hoping supporters turn up in force this weekend to back the 'Walk up for Burnley' ticket offer and create a wall of noise inside Turf Moor.

So far 1,200 cut-price tickets have been sold for the game, although some may be from casual supporters who normally pay at the turnstile on match days.

Supporters, who can pay just £20 for four tickets, only have until 5pm on Friday to take advantage of the Rotherham deal.

And West, who admits the team have their part to play, believes the extra support can act as Burnley's 12th man.

He added: "The more people who come through the turnstiles, the better it is for everyone, from the players on the pitch to the club as a whole.

"Hopefully there will be a good atmosphere, but if we put on a good performance and get three points it will encourage people to come through the gate and watch us play.

"They like to watch us play, but they like to watch us win as well."

Local schoolchildren stand to benefit from the 'Walk up for Burnley' campaign. Some adults have taken advantage of the four-ticket deal (two adults and two concessions) to purchase just two at around half price.

The club have pledged to hand all unwanted children's tickets to their Football in the Community arm to distribute among local schools.
