ARMED robbers allowed a man to remove a puppy from his £25,000 Alfa Romeo before stealing the car.
Earlier, the thugs had threatened the 33-year-old owner at gunpoint after he pulled up outside his home in Manchester Road, Bury. They struck as he was about to put the car into his garage. But the raiders, armed with a silver handgun and crowbar, said the victim could remove the German Shepherd puppy from the car.
Both robbers then drove off in the Alfa Romeo following the raid, which happened at 9.10pm on Monday. The first man, who was carrying the gun, was slim and wore dark clothing and black gloves. His accomplice was aged between 18 and 22 and was also wearing dark clothing and black gloves. Both wore balaclavas.
Police believe the thugs were driving a silver Volkswagen Golf. The owner of the Alfa, registration MF53 DZA, declined to talk about his ordeal.
