THE moment when the most unusual wedding in soap history was rubber stamped is set to become a Corrie fan's pride and joy.

Hyndburn-born actress Julie Hesmondhalgh, best known as Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street, has organised a celebrity-themed auction to raise funds for local charity Maundy Relief.

The soap star, whose parents still live in Church, has collected around 50 lots, including a signed David Beckham photograph, T-shirts signed by the casts of The Bill and Casualty, autographed photos of the Corrie cast -- and the genuine wedding certificate of Roy Cropper and Tracy Barlow.

Roy married Tracy in the show this week in a bid to ensure access to his unborn baby, conceived after a one-night stand.

And the certificate will be one of the star items to go under the hammer tomorrow at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Clayton-le-Moors.

A pair of football boots worn and signed by Manchester United star Ryan Giggs will also be auctioned, as well as an Albert Square sign autographed by the cast of EastEnders.

Julie, who is patron for the charity, in Abbey Street, Accrington, hopes the event will raise in excess of £2,000 to help Hyndburn's homeless and needy over the festive period.

She said: "Alot obviously depends on who comes, but I hope the David Beckham picture will bring a lot. Basically they would all make great Christmas presents and we are even selling gift wrap and cards too.

"I want it to be affordable and fun for everyone.

"All of the money raised will go to Maundy Relief which is a great organisation. Dorothy McGregor, who runs it, is the most amazing person -- she is a tiny bundle of goodness."

In addition to the auction, there will be a raffle, tombola, bric-a-brac stalls and an open bar, as well as the chance to meet Julie.

Doors open at 12.30pm for a 1pm start, and it should run until 4pm.

Tickets are £5 on the door, which includes a glass of champagne. Entry for children is free.
