ALDER Grange High School, Rawtenstall has celebrated the success of its pupils at its annual prize-giving ceremony.
The special event was attended by the Mayor of Rossendale, Councillor Eileen Kershaw, and County Councillor for Rossendale West Hazel Harding.
Headteacher Iain Hulland welcomed back last year's year 11 students who achieved record GCSE results - 55 per cent of them achieved at least five GCSEs, grade A* to C.
He said: "It is lovely to have just one opportunity in a hugely busy year to relish the progress made and successes achieved by the whole school community and its individual members."
Mr Hulland also praised staff, governors, parents and partner primary schools.
He said: "The simple truth is that any great and lasting success is a team effort and that in a school the different teams must be formed into a single unit. This is immensely difficult to establish, but here, we have it."
