A DRUNKEN pedal cyclist was found asleep on the pavement after falling off his bike.
Blackburn magistrates heard Paul Anthony Grunshaw thought someone was trying to steal his bike when police roused him.
And his subsequent behaviour resulted in his arrest for being drunk and disorderly.
Grunshaw, 21, of Hancock Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and was fined £175 with £75 costs.
Basharat Ditta, defending, said he had never tried it personally but imagined that riding a bike after consuming a large quantity of whisky and vodka was very difficult.
"He was very drunk and didn't know who was trying to get him up," said Mr Ditta. "He thought someone was trying to steal his bike."
