SHOPPING on the wrong side of the road cost Joanne Charlson a night in police cells.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Charlson was banned from entering an area of Blackburn town centre as part of a condition of bail.
But a line indicating the area passed down the middle of Railway Road and when Charlson, a diabetic, crossed to go into Railway News to get a can of pop she breached her bail.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said Charlson, 21, of Glenfield Close, Blackburn, had felt the need for a sugar drink.
"She crossed the road and went into Railway News not thinking it was part of the area she was excluded from," said Mr Blacklidge.
"Having looked at some of the maps available in court today it is not entirely clear where the line runs so perhaps she can be forgiven for not knowing."
Charlson admitted the breach but the magistrates did not impose any penalty.
She was further remanded on bail.
