FYLDE RUFC's captain has been given a 12-week ban from the game -- and one of his team-mates has been arrested by police over an alleged assault.
Dylan O'Grady has been suspended by the RFU following his sending off for his part in a mass brawl during a game with New Brighton on November 1.
At a hearing in Leeds on Monday night O'Grady, who has already been banned by his club, was told he would not be able to play again until January 25. His team-mate, Karl Long was granted police bail this week after being arrested following an investigation into the match. New Brighton centre, Dan Naylor, had to receive stitches to a facial wound and his club contacted police about the incident.
Long's conduct is also the subject of an RFU inquiry. He is accused of striking an opponent after the final whistle. At the request of his solicitor, his hearing has been postponed until January.
