STANLEY'S recent poor run of form continued with a dogged and determined Clock Face doing the double over a Stanley side that had more than 60 per cent of the play but just could not find their way over the line.

From the first whistle Stanley laid siege to Clocks line but failed on numerous occasions to finish off moves either by taking the wrong option or throwing out impossible passes. In the best move of the match John Greensill got over the line but was pulled back for a knock on and after this Clock went up field to score the only try of the half after a kick through was missed by Stanley's defence with the Clock winger diving on the ball for a try in the corner. The second half was a similar story to the first with Stanley having plenty of ball but wasting several chances and Clock defending well on their own line. Clock then scored a breakaway converted try to seal a game that they deserved through sheer determination and team spirit something that Stanley need to address if they want to get back at the top of the table and play the football they know they are capable of and learn to finish off sides by playing better controlled rugby.

With eight home games to come starting with Albert Park this coming Saturday Stanley know they must start getting back into that winning habit or all of their earlier work will have been wasted.
