IT DELIGHTED millions of TV viewers in the 1980s -- but Mr and Mrs is set to become a surprise hit in Iceland!

"That's the country, not the store," said the show's St Annes based presenter, Derek Batey, who signed a deal last week which will take the Mr and Mrs board game to the land of Magnus Magnusson and Bjork.

"As far as I know, the programme has never been shown there," said Derek: "But I hear they spend six months of the year in almost total darkness, so they have plenty of time to play."

The British version of the game has sold a remarkable 100,000 copies and there are now plans for a travel version. A DVD version of the game is expected to appear before Christmas -- partly shot in St Annes.

"Apparently, it has become a popular wedding gift so, instead of getting six toasters when you get married, you now get five copies of the Mr and Mrs Game," said Derek.
