M.E.N. LEAGUE
OLDHAM BOYS U15...6
BURY BOYS U15...1
BURY boys produced their worst performance of the season on a wild and wet morning at Chadderton.
Problems started as early as the fifth minute when an Oldham player broke up some gentle interpassing by the defence and raced forward some 20 yards to score.
The second Oldham goal appeared to be offside but the third and fourth goals, both in the first half hour, were a result of some very lax defending.
A complete first half collapse was avoided when Luke Berry (Bury Church) fired home, but even then Oldham missed several easy chances and goalkeeper David Campbell (Bury Church) made several excellent saves to avoid complete humiliation.
Playing with the wind helped in the second half and the Bury lads came back well to apply good pressure. The best effort came from Luke Morgan (Castlebrook) who hit a post after an excellent run.
Shortly after Oldham counter attacked to maintain their lead and a sixth goal completed the rout.
