BURY GSOB first and second team players were left without a game when the recent rain surprisingly accounted for their respective Lancashire Amateur League fixtures at Little Lever and Rossendale on Saturday.
The 3rd team travelled to Lymm where goals from Stuart Hartley, Jason Parkin, Richard Bowd and Jim Walmsley gave them a 4-2 victory against the home club's fourth team.
Meanwhile Lymm's fifth team travelled to Buckley Wells where Bury were able to utilise the perfect playing surface of their main pitch for this fourth team fixture.
Early goals from Dave Thompson and Rowan Davis were quickly cancelled out by the visitors before another Thompson strike restored the lead on the stroke of half-time.
Lymm again levelled early in the second half before Thompson finished off a superb run by Darrell Guy to put the Old Boys back in front.
The Bury striker then ran on to claim his fourth goal of the game before Lymm struck again and the Old Boys hung on to the 5-4 lead in a highly entertaining game.
Old Boltonians are the visitors to Buckley Wells tomorrow in a rescheduled first team fixture, kick-off 2.15pm.
Bury will be looking to add more points to their tally after a dismal sequence of results in November.
