ROSSENDALE United boss Paul Lynch is calling on his players to get over their away day blues and bolster his promotion and cup ambitions.

While Dark Lane has been something of a fortress this season, Lynch wants his side to improve their results on the road to help climb the table and progress on the trophy trail.

Dale travel to UniBond Division One high-flyers Hyde United on Saturday and then Guiseley on Tuesday for their FA Trophy second round replay.

Lynch said: "While we have only been beaten once at home, our away form has let us down. That is something we have to improve on if we want to progress in the cup competitions and go up at the end of the season."

Dale are currently in 16th place in the league but have games in hand against those teams around them.

The manager has a full squad to call upon for the trip to fifth place Hyde with the exception of Brian Welch, who is out until after Christmas with knee ligament damage. Lynch will also be without Steve Bird after the centre half joined Clitheroe on a month's loan.
