Re: Pioneering Housing Scheme, November 20. Housing Associations provide the less fortunate with good quality accommodation at true cost.
Accommodation is built to a very high standard with due consideration to safety and quality of life.
The private landlord offers accommodation often not purpose-built but, the product of a DIY conversion and maintained only to DIY standards.
There are no building regulations applied and rents are sky high.
People residing in a good number of private lets are in a transit situation until suitable accommodation becomes available.
