I DROVE along the by-pass coming into work on Wednesday and "sang" along to an early 60's hit I've not heard for ages -- "Sheila" by Tommy Roe.
It took me back to when I was 12, lived at the top of Higher Folds, and had been given an amazing Grundig TK 45 reel to reel tape recorder for Christmas.
While my parents were having a Saturday evening out I sat there with my new hi-tech machine and endlessly and tunelessly, because I haven't a correct note in my body, rendered this song into the machine.
Boy was I mortified next day when our next door neighbour Brian Hesford, who was about 10 years older than me and I thought had a look of Elvis, congratulated me for keeping him entertained through the wall.
If you have you any embarrassing singing moments let's have 'em.
