LUCKY Marion Marsh has scooped a lottery jackpot twice in 12 months.

Even though the sum total is only £1,250 from the Wigan and Leigh Hospice game it has changed her life!

Marion, 64, who is urging Leigh people to play the local lottery and help the terminally ill, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 40, and had been saving for two years to buy a mobility scooter that would allow her to get around.

In November last year she was thrilled to learn that she had won the £1000 first prize which meant she could buy her much needed transport.

She said: "If I hadn't won I would have faced another 12 months of saving before I could afford the £3,500."

"I started doing the hospice lottery eight years ago after two of my neighbours had been in and I honestly didn't care about the gambling aspect, I really just did it to donate, never expecting to win"

Marion, of Shevington, won again in October, this time a second prize of £250, which enabled her to take a week in Majorca.

She will continue paying her £1 a week in order to continue supporting the Hospice, but really doesn't care if she never wins again. "I think it is someone else's turn now," she said.
