POLICE have identified a man who died when he jumped from a motorway bridge in Oswaldtwistle.
Phillip Botterill, 27, of Whalley New Road, Blackburn, was killed when he leapt from the Stanhill Lane bridge over the M65.
He was an unemployed man who lived alone and was identified by his father after a police appeal after the incident in mid-November.
PS Bev Saycell of Lancashire motorway police said several eyewitnesses had seen Mr Botterill fall on to the hard shoulder of the M65 between Junctions Five and Six.
They all said his fall was a deliberate act and PS Saycell said several people had been traumatised by the incident.
