A MAN has been charged after a woman passenger, from Brierfield, was seriously injured in a car accident last night.
Police said the 23-year-old woman was a front seat passenger in a Cavalier, being driven by Mohammed Bashir, of Carter Street, Accrington, which collided with a parked car and an oncoming Citroen in Tonge Moor Road, Bolton.
The woman is in the intensive care unit at the Royal Bolton Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery for head and pelvic injuries.
Bashir has been charged with drink driving and dangerous driving and is due to appear before Bolton magistrates on December 15.
