AIR quality in the Ribble Valley is officially very good, according to a new report.
The borough council's latest air quality review and assessment has been made up of data collected over the last two years from its monitoring stations at Chatburn and Waddington.
James Russell, Ribble Valley Council environmental health manager, said: "The report is a requirement of the UK Air Quality Strategy, which places a duty on local authorities to review and assess air quality periodically in their area.
"In undertaking the assessment, we have met environmental standards set out by the Government."
The latest report also reveals that Clitheroe cement company Castle Cement has not had a significant effect on the air quality.
