CHILDREN in Burnley have been fighting the flab by taking park in after-school activity sessions.
The hour-long sessions are being held at three primary schools -- Brunshaw, Springfield Community and Cherry Fold.
They have been organised by Burnley Council's healthy lifestyle team in response to a recent survey published by the British Medical Association, which revealed that 20 per cent of four-year-olds in the UK were overweight and eight per cent were obese.
The Fit Kids activity sessions include group games, exercise to music, mini-circuits, tag games, fruit and food testing and much more.
All children are offered a piece of fruit at the end of the session to encourage them to eat a balanced diet.
