BITTER Blades boss Neil Warnock admitted making the wrong choice of keeper at Turf Moor.

Debutant Lee Baxter suffered a nightmare first half before being replaced by fellow new signing Alan Fettis for the second half with United 3-2 down.

Warnock moaned: "I don't want to go on about Lee, but I think he will be disappointed. He was distraught at half time and that's why I took the decision to bring him off. No disrespect to Alan Fettis, but I think anyone could have kept goal in the second half and it's a disappointment because we've lost a game we should have won, even with ten men.

"I'd not seen much of either goalkeeper to be honest and it was a toss of the coin who to start with. We went for youth and that's how it goes. You win some and you lose some and we are all clever men after the event.

"It cost us dearly, but I've told Lee there are far worse things in life."

Warnock, who thought Brown's sending off was harsh, added: "It was a good game for the public with some end-to-end stuff, but we have to be a little bit more mentally strong not to be overturned at times like this.

"We have to get on without wanting any friends because we have a good squad and I think we can look forward to having a big say in the top of the league."
