RAMSBOTTOM UTD...4 CURZON ASHTON...1
VINCE Overson had a dream home managerial debut as the Rams reached the last eight of the League Challenge Cup.
Danny Heys opened the scoring on 20 minutes when his deflected drive flew past his former Witton team-mate David Fish in the Curzon goal.
On 41 minutes an innocuous clearance from Eatock was flicked on by Matt Swailes and Gareth Gardiner calmly slid the ball beyond Fish to double the Rams' advantage.
Within 20 minutes of the second half the score had been doubled again with both Gardiner and Heys completing their braces.
Gardiner despatched a penalty then minutes later a storming run from Ian Dyson led to an inch-perfect cross for the smallest player on the field, Heys, to nod home.
Curzon grabbed a consolation on 79 minutes but following the final whistle the Rams were awarded more good news when it was revealed that Lee Buggie was in fact staying with the club after turning down a move to local neighbours Radcliffe Borough.
