A SPECIALIST team working to promote the role of social services in some of Pendle's most deprived areas has secured Government funding until 2006.
The team of social workers and customer care officers, based at social services in Nelson, does outreach work in deprived areas of Nelson, Colne and Brierfield.
Now it has secured enough funding from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund to continue providing its services until March 2006.
The team works in partnership with health agencies, services providers and community groups to provide advice, information and care to adults with a physical disability or serious injury, a learning disability, sensory impairment or mental health problems as well as identifying individuals with social care needs.
