THE Rev David Crosby has been appointed the new priest in charge of Hurst Green and Mitton.

Mr Crosby, 55, was ordained four years ago and is currently senior curate in Farnham, Surrey.

Even though David is a relatively new vicar, he should have no problem managing his parish as previously he has worked as an IT consultant, finance and logistics manager, as well as a training and development manager in the textile industry.

Born in Bradford, he later moved to Wibsey where he met his wife.

He said: "There's a real sense of newness and excitement for me as this is my first incumbency. I'm greatly looking forward to meeting the people in the parishes."

As a keen walker Mr Crosby is also looking forward to taking many a stroll through the "stunningly beautiful scenery" of his parish, set in the heart of the Ribble Valley .

Mr Crosby's licensing will take place on April 17 next year, at St John's, in Hurst Green.
