STAN Ternent has not ruled out a future swoop for Bolton striker Delroy Facey.

The Trotters hitman returned to the Reebok late last month following the end of a three month loan that brought five goals in fourteen starts for the Clarets.

Burnley were unable to agree a deal for Facey, who is now sidelined through a foot injury sustained towards the end of his Turf Moor spell.

But Clarets boss Ternent admits he is still keen on landing the striker if Wanderers reassess their own striking options.

"If I could bring Delroy here, I'd certainly do that," revealed Ternent. "But it's what you can afford to do and until Sam Allardyce maybe brings in a few players and they can then let a few more out, nothing looks like happening."

Clarets chairman Barry Kilby also admitted that Facey remains a target to boost Ternent's attacking options.

Bolton are believed to have slapped a £200,000 price tag on the striker, who cost considerably less than that in a compensation payment when he joined the Trotters from Huddersfield 18 months ago.

"Delroy's foot injury looks like keeping him out of action for (up to) six weeks," explained Kilby.

"But we'll be looking at that deal again in the future and assessing Bolton's asking price."

Meanwhile, Kilby has expressed his frustration at not being handed a rare home draw in the FA Cup third round.

The Clarets coffers would have received a welcome boost with a Turf Moor tie against a Premiership big gun.

Instead, the Clarets face a banana-skin trip to either Mansfield or Wycombe in early January - their eighth consecutive away game in all cup competitions.

Kilby, who recently pumped another £1m into the club in the form of a loan, revealed: "We always budget for one game in the FA Cup and the figure we put in is based on an average gate of around 8,000 at Turf Moor.

"The money we get from an away game to either of these teams will no doubt be less than that, so it's not the best draw.

"But I suppose it could have been worse. The worst scenario would be to draw a poorly supported side from your own division away from home, so at least we've avoided that.

"This way we have a golden opportunity of getting through to the next round and certainly everyone will remember Brentford last year and where that eventually led us.

"It's the luck of the draw and now it's all about getting through and having another crack of the whip."

Burnley Reserves are in action this afternoon away to Stoke City. The game takes place at Newcastle Town's ground, kick off 2pm.
