GOOD on Tory leader Councillor Colin Rigby (LET, December 8) for criticising Blackburn Council for wasting public money.

Some of the worse examples of waste is what they are doing to the roads. Our cars are going to be fit for scrap in no time with the amount of speed humps everywhere shaking them to bits and what they have done (and continue to do) in the town centre? All very pretty, some may think, but not practical.

Narrowing all the roads to make themselves more parking spaces and collect money from meters. But all the time traffic is increasing and will be quickly filling up these narrow roads when it would have made sense to leave them as two lanes.

It is simply a continuation of motorist persecution.
