POST offices have delivered their festive timetable of opening hours for Bury.

Branches will open as normal on Saturday, December 20, but the following day, offices which normally open on a Sunday will only do so at their discretion.

On Christmas Eve, post offices will be open from 9am to 4pm and be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Normal opening hours apply on Saturday, December 27, but on Sunday, December 28, offices will again be open at their discretion.

On New Year's Eve, all post offices will be open from 9am until 4pm but closed New Year's Day.

Benefit payments due on December 25 and Boxing Day can be collected from December 19. Those scheduled for New Year's Day can be collected from December 29.

Pensions and allowances paid by card account can be paid one working day before the due date. Weekly child benefit payments due on a day when post offices are closed may be made in line with the same arrangements.

Last recommended posting dates for the UK are second class: December 18 and first class: December 20.
