RESIDENTS in the Trinity ward of Burnley are meeting tonight to discuss regeneration plans for their area.
They will be debating the Neighbourhood Action Plan drawn up for South West Burnley on how cash from the Elevate East Lancashire programme should be spent ahead of a meeting with council officers next week.
Brian Barritt, who lives in Trinity, said: "We need to discuss what we feel about the plans as one community. We need to find out whether people believe the town hall will deliver an improved quality of life for Trinity residents, or whether this is just a glorified clearance programme with the intention to clear residents of Trinity off the land as cheaply as possible.
"We will also be looking at how other areas of the country manage this process in sensitive ways."
The meeting takes place at The Hob & Gill, Burnham Gate, at 7.30pm. Invitations have been delivered to all households in the ward.
