THE man believed to be responsible for indecently assaulting and robbing a 22-year-old Lancaster woman in her home has been remanded in custody.
Daniel Scott Watters, of Thirlmere Road, Lancaster, appeared before Lancaster Magistrates Court yesterday (Wednesday).
The 20-year-old, who entered no plea, is believed to have sneaked into the flat in the early hours of the morning.
Police received a barrage of calls following a newspaper appeal after the incident on St George's Quay.
"Following the incident on November 28, when a 22-year-old woman was sexually abused and robbed in her own home near St George's Quay, Lancaster, police inquiries have identified a man we believe responsible," says DI Martin Clague, of Lancaster Police.
"There was a good response from the public to assist in this investigation and the police would like to thank the local community for their help."
Watters is due to appear before Preston Crown Court on December 19.
