A TAPESTRY put together by primary pupils ends a fabulous school tour at Leigh St John's CE Infants on Thursday.
Created by artist Anne Smith with youngsters from all 26 schools in Leigh Education Action Zone it has been seen by 7,000 children.
But there will be a curtain call on Friday when it goes on show for Christmas shoppers at Leigh's Spinning Gate.
"We felt the people of our town should have an early opportunity to see this magnificent piece of Leigh children's art," said Leigh EAZ project director Alan Dutton.
"The quilt is a unique piece of social history and a real testament to the success and the impact the Zone has had since it was launched in 1999.
"We are proud to be recognised by the government as the best EAZ in the country, and the quilt, this valuable piece of art by our children, is an endorsement of that."
The tapestry will go on permanent show in the children's section at Leigh Library.
